This major Aged Care development involved the construction of 40 luxury independent senior living apartments within a community village. The complex is situated across from DutchCare’s residential aged care facility in Mt Dandenong Road, Kilsyth and involves 5 interlinked two storey buildings which cascade downhill forming a large development over a site of 7725m² . The total floor area of the complex is +8000m².

Each apartment has 2/3 bedrooms, open kitchen and dining area, powder rooms, ensuite bathrooms, living area with floor to ceiling windows, a balcony /open terrace, disabled access and is fitted with an emergency call system. The communal ‘Community Village’ incorporates a sports bar, craft room, a wellness centre as well as a dining area, library and a large secure car park.

Extending out from the shared dining area and commercial kitchen is a large communal terrace space nestled amongst landscaped gardens.

This was a rewarding project for JLCB which included various challenges throughout the build including significant latent conditions and demanding timeframes.

The resulting quality of this retirement living complex is testament to the hard work and dedication of the JLCB team.
